Hey,
Some of you may have seen one of my recent projects... the NoMote-6 JAMMA 6-in-1 switcher remote eliminator. It lets you use buttons, instead of the wireless remotes that the Chinese JAMMA switchers use.
I'm looking to send the first run out to testers next week, but I'm looking to get any last minute feedback/suggestions for features, so I can possibly make changes before sending them out.
The install/configuration manual is available here: http://www.projectvb.com/nomote/manual.pdf . I'll be posting a page with more info/details to http://www.projectvb.com/nomote , but the manual is the only thing up at the moment.
Here's a video I did a while ago showing the prototype (same functionality, just hand-wired):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-Ehwkh26IY
Features:
-Eliminates the need for a wireless remote control on the 6-in-1 JAMMA Switcher
-Active slot can be selected using one or two buttons
--Button function is programmable to either:
---One button to select next port, (optionally) other button to select previous port
---Press both buttons simultaneously to select next port
-Can use dedicated game selection button, or existing buttons (i.e. start buttons)
-Button hold duration is programmable
-Startup port is programmable
-Unused ports can be disabled
-Factory reset
If you see any features that'd be useful that are missing, please let me know. And I installed screw terminals... I assume those are prefered over soldering the wires for the buttons? It requires a small jeweler's screwdriver.
Also, if you have a 6-in-1 JAMMA switcher, and are interested in being a tester (willing to install and give feedback promptly, and in the US), drop me a PM. They'll be available for sale a couple weeks after they go out to the testers, so if you're just looking to get one, but in no hurry to install, I'd wait for the final release.
I'm working on versions for other switchers too. I'll have one available for the 2-in-1 switcher that uses the remote, as well as a more generic version for multi kits that use switches (like Tempest/Tubes) or a seperate button (like the Taito 20-in-1).
Thanks,
DogP
