SW Episode 1 Lightsaber-Dumb Questions

Ok

So I took apart the lightsaber after determining the transformer needs replacing. As usual managed to break a couple of things.

I bought a new transformer but it looks like there is no connector, its just wires. What is the name of the little two wire connector at the end of the transformer that connects underneath the playfield?

Also anyone ever change the color of the lightsaber, is it a standard neon tube? I think blue would be cool, not in line with the movie or qui-gonns lightsaber but thought as long as this thing is torn apart I would look into it.
