So my CRT has a 25K7193 which has a blooming problem (and convergence problems, but I'll worry about it later). I have been playing with this CRT on-off for a year, and this chassis was a replacement to an unknown Kortek/A-one that was originally on it.
When I mentioned the blooming to a friend at work (an old school technician in his 60s) he said the HV going into the anode is probably too high. He leant me an HV probe and I measured it = 27KV.
Isn't that way high? Isn't that in the X-Ray range?
Interesting thing, the first week I was working with this chassis it kept turning off after a few minutes. I am guessing now it was turning off due to HV shutdown protection?
Thoughts? Next steps?
Thanks,
Darren
